FIRE CREW SUPERVISOR (CREW LEADER)

Fire Crew Supervisors (Crew Leaders) are experienced and capable firefighters who have taken recognized courses to become accredited for their position.

A Crew Leader must have completed the following:

a) S 100 Basic Fire Suppression and Safety or equivalent (annual re-currency);

b) S 185 Fire Entrapment Avoidance;

c) S 212 Fire Line Communications;

d) S 230 Introduction to Supervision (Crew Boss);

e) S 235 Burn Off and Backfiring;

f) Incident Command System (ICS 100);

g) Acted as Crew Leader on three (3) fires OR twenty (20) days as a fire fighter (minimum 240 hours required);

h) Supervisors must be qualified to monitor work activities and ensure the health and safety of workers under their supervision, including but not limited to fire and chainsaw operations.

i) Annual Physical Fitness Test – Moderate Standard
